These adorable zippered pouches/wallets are made from an eco-friendly leather-like imitation material. It is recyclable and biodegradable. While it looks like leather, you'll enjoy knowing it is not.

Mlavi takes their commitment to product safety and the environment seriously. Often imitation leather has lead and other harmful chemicals inside.  Mlavi has all material custom made to meet EU standards and certified by one of the top labs in the world, SGS.

Mlavi uses a factory located in Shenzhen Guangdong, which is very close to Hongkong. It is a highly developed industrial zone and implement tough regulations in China. (For example, staff are not allowed to work overtime without local industrial zone management consent to ensure the workers are well rested). The factory is owned and operated by Taiwan professionals with over 25 years experience in the bag manufacturing. The environment is professional and modern. Leo (the designer and director) visits the factory at least once a year, so he knows firsthand how the staff is treated--fairly and well paid. Shenzheng is close to Hongkong and workers in that are are paid among the highest wages in China.
